I've been Internet-missing for some time now. Not completely gone, but just present in the most casual sense. I've Instagrammed. I've tweeted. I've even been written about, even if I haven't been writing.
My last piece was in 2012, just before the year ended. 2013 was personally exciting, but creatively idle. Well, not completely. I did create a customized Dungeons & Dragons style zombie-apocalypse simulator that took my friends through a mock infestation of Chicago playing as pen-and-paper renditions of themselves. My comedy team, Sober Ben, had its first sketch show, but that too wasn't online. It was an analog year, all told.
2014 was nothing shy of transitional. It featured a new, stable job and marriage to my clever, beautiful, grounded fiancee. While it pales in comparison to those things, I also created a successful comedic Twitter account capturing the absurdity of video game development.
You may or may not care at all about any of this, but I suppose this isn't for you. It's not an excuse for not writing either. It's simply a chance for me to kick off the dust and take a first step.
Thanks for being here.
